Dear IS Volunteers! we are very happy and eager to tell you that, the fishermen of Fukkiurahama in Ishinomaki have invited us to a Kaki (Oyster) Party planned for us on June 2nd!!!

They want to express their gratitude for your help in the first steps of reconstructing their Bay and want to keep their promise of making us eat all the oyster that we can, celebrating the fact that they are getting better, and the Oyster business in Ishinomaki will revive!

We will meet in Sendai Station at 10am sharp to go all together to by bus to their Bay.

Although it’s a one day event, you can stay for one more night in the Bay for free! and depart the next day to tour around beautiful Sendai as well. If you would like to stay one more day, please state so in the comments below.

PERFORMANCES FOR THE FISHERMEN! WANTED!

We will have a sound system there, and this is a fun party, and we think it would be interesting if we prepare individual or group performances for the fishermen. Please prepare something to entertiain the fishermen’s families.

FEES:

The party is free but you need to take care of your own travel expenses to the place (about 10,000 yen by Shinkansen from Tokyo to Sendai Station)
And if you would like to support the fishermen, please buy a Fukkiurahama T-shirt when we get there.
We have a space for up to 30people so if you are able to go, press the JOIN button as soon as possible before it gets full!
