Vision
To become the leading global network of active nikkei leaders.
Our goal is to create a non-profit community of people who share similar goals and interests, where they can share information and help each other.
Mission
To provide development opportunities to empower young people around the world, to help build the next 100 years through “Kizuna”.
The core of this community is the Japanese concept of Kizuna, strong emotional bonds that tie us together. We believe that if liked-minded people who share similar backgrounds, in this case the mix of the Japanese and other cultures, work together a strong network will be created.
Strategy
We will work in 3 different fronts, each of them focused on specific targets.
NYN Connect
is where we target the broader public. We created a webportal called Hana.bi ( www.hana.bi ) where websites and blogs related to Japan can be created for free. Also by actively using social media such as Facebook and Twitter.
NYN Action
We promote several events such as the NYN Summit ( nynsummit.hana.bi ), NYN Parties ( nynparties.hana.bi ) throughout the year to gather the young Nikkei so they can meet each other and share ideas in person. Also we organize retreats where we invite prominent young Nikkei leaders to Japan to work together, have in-depth discussions and have time to know each other well.
We also organize volunteers missions for situations of emergency such as sending international students to devastated areas in the north of Japan, after the 3.11 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami incident or 2011. Here is the International Studen Volunteer website.
NYN Challenge
We plan to create a fund to help existing interesting projects done by Nikkei succeed. Our goal here is to help those who already have great ideas, have found partners to start their project and have already took the first steps rather than promoting a project contest.
This is our main project of NYN, called Samuraidea. A crowdfunding/sourcing multilingual platform to realize projects of social good.
