Akira is a Chilean-Japanese born in Costa Rica. He likes to think big and dreams about making the Nikkei Youth Network into a global community to change the world into a better place through “Kizuna”.
At the age of 24 he came to Japan as a Nippon Foundation Nikkei Scholar. After graduating, he made 4 trips around the world on Peace Boat, became the coordinator for NFSA, and is now the director of this organization. He loves food, graphic design and events where people share cool innovative ideas.
Inocima is a Third-generation Japanese Brazilian that was raised and educated in Brazil. After graduating in Marketing and Adverting from the ESPM college, he moved to Japan in 2005 where he worked as the General Manager for JBC Japan and founded NYN with Akira. Now he is also the Regional Manager of Square Enix Latin America. He is fluent in English, Português and 日本語.
Jay is an artist and 4th generation Japanese American, born and raised in California. He moved to Japan in 2010 to re-inspire himself artistically and to get in touch with his family roots. After the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, he spent most of his time in Tohoku Japan leading volunteer teams and translating for the Nippon Foundation ROAD Project for over a year, and is now the Design Director for the Nikkei Youth Network. He also belongs to TokyoDex, a collaboration of eclectic artists, creating some amazing projects in and around Tokyo. Nature, insects, robots and Japanese culture are some of his artistic inspirations, and is fluent in both English and 日本語.
